Yet from the 17th April, until late June, Mars goes retrograde. This happens every 2 years and it's a pause in your actions and a reassessment of your approach to a situation.
If you have been embroiled in a fight of any kind, this is a time to regroup. You were headed down one course of action but now need to reassess and find a new course, or readjust the one you're on.
A 'fight' can mean an actual war with someone, but it can also refer to a big challenge you've been butting heads with for some time.
For many of us, we're slow to anger, or repress our anger, or simply try for a 'higher' emotion. However, sometimes in life it's anger that saves our skin. Anger has the ability to rile up a force of survival in a way most other emotions just can't manage.
It means that if we are at threat - physically, emotionally, psychologically - without anger we end up taking more hardship than we need to.
Mars retrograde does slow energy down, and this can be frustrating if you just want to keep pushing forward on a project. However, pushing will only cause more frustrations.
Mars in Sagittarius wants the highest ideal to prevail. Yet perhaps your chosen course of action hasn't really been helping. In this time of pause, you can reconsider and re-plan. It's like during a war when the troops retreat to re-strategize. Or during a sport's game when the teams huddle.
Perhaps you've been too hot-headed and not thinking logically, or not angry enough and taking too much of the burden. Or you've been pushing against a particular challenge as an uphill struggle. Another option is Mars Sagittarius becoming too idealistic and wanting to believe that the fight is unnecessary. Whatever the case, a fresh approach is required.
While Mars retrogrades in Sagittarius, it's time to re-consider whether our aim has been true. That is, make sure your fight has been honest and justified. Re-examine whether your ideologies, philosophies, beliefs, and the cause you champion, still ring true. It's a time when you might find or re-find a new awareness of cultural or political issues, or re-consider old beliefs that you've held.
By May 29th, Mars will be retrograding back into Scorpio, and that's when things get really interesting.
As Mars already passed it's way through Scorpio, a retrograde back in means that we'll find ourselves revisiting the issues from back then. Think back to some unsettling issues that you were dealing with between January 4th and March 5th.
Scorpio is; the hidden, enemies, secrets, deep passion, jealousy, possessiveness, vindictiveness, resourcefulness, intense drive, sexuality, power-struggles, faithfulness, manipulation, suspicion, complexity, fearlessness.
If you had to experience or work through any situation that involved one of those issues, whether in yourself or from an external source, be prepared for looking back into the face of that again.
However, in retrograde, it's more about re-minding yourself. That is, if you've become complacent, too idealist/optimistic, or arrogant, you're reminded of what the 'fight' was (and still is), what the conditions were, and how you are to remain vigilant and on top of your game.
During this pause, consider what your previous approach has been: whether you have been fighting hard, stepping away from the fight, or sticking your head in the sand.
* A sign of too much anger is irritability (heart palpitations, stomach ulcer).
* A sign of not enough, or misdirected, anger is resentment (headaches, cramps).
* A sign of denying anger is feelings of powerlessness or depression (fatigue).
