seeing the road

When you love a novel so much, for whatever reason, its transformation into film is both a thrilling and anxiety-riddled anticipated event.

I can barely breathe.

  10. How did I not know this has been made into a movie?! Good cast, but I wish they had chosen lesser known actors - when a book I love is made into a movie, I don't like to get distracted by "star power". Regardless, can't wait to see it!

Love Rich Hippie. If you like quirky scents, you might also want to check out Dinner by Bobo and the Smell Bent line.

Hope a wonderful weekend is in store for you. :)

  16. wow... that movie looks intense.
I might have to pass, or watch a matinee. I get insomnia after that much input before bedtime. : )
Embarrassed to admit, I never read the book either.

  17. I only recently read 'I Capture the Castle' and it was a wonderful book ... It will be interesting to see how the film 'On the Road' will turn out ... I'll keep fingers crossed it's great.

PS. I'm off to check out that 'egg' recipe. Sounds fantastic! :)

  18. Oh yes indeed - my copy of that book is so well-worn I had to go and buy another. It's been read (by both myself and others) to the point where it's unreadable, so very loved that it is. So let's say that I've been nervously anticipating the film version, and hoping they don't make a mash of things.

However, Walter Salles is directing and he also directed The Motor Cycle Diaries - one of my favourite films. So I'm quietly hopeful.

And hell, I gotta see this one.

Barely breathing along with you ; )

  24. I agree that when you learn about one of your favorite novels being put into film it is both a thrilling and anxious feeling... however in this case, I think they have gone all wrong, the casting to me is completely off. I'm more angry than anxious this time haha
