I like to relax with anything by Kate Atkinson. And I'd like the cream, sounds lovely!
ReplyDeletemy fave summer read is 'kate moss style'. love her stories about vintage huntign and building up a timeless wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, what a great giveaway. Congratulations on reaching the big 100! I would love Taking Flight and the bandana. My favourite summer read would have to be Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Oh and please enter me for another entry as I do follow your fabulous blog :).
ReplyDeleteI love to read anything by Christine Feehan, Anne McCaffrey or Nora Roberts.
ReplyDeleteI would love the scraptastical book if I am lucky enough to win and the Owl Bookmark, it sounds lovely.
Thank you for your generosity and the great blog.
Hi Monica! the best book I have read in summertime was THe colony of unrequited dreams by Wayne Johnston- i would not call it exaclty a summer book, if by that people mean an easy read. its a great book !
ReplyDeleteyou are having a realy good giveaway! i `d love to win Taking Flight and i would choose the bandana, only because i always loose my bookholders...
THanks for this opprtunity! love from Norway
i am not on tweeter but i will have a post about your giveaway tomorrow
ReplyDelete...and i already one of your happy followers ; )
ReplyDeletethanks again for such generosity!
um, Wow!! What a giveaway!! I have actually been thinking about diving into Jane Austen this summer, I LOVE Pride and Prejudice and feel an itching to read it ;). I'm also wondering if I would love any more of Kate Morton's books, since I loved Forgotten Garden...maybe Distant Hours or House at Riverton?
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer book has to be "Early to the Dance" by David Payne. I first read it in my teens and it isn't a particularly happy book, but it reminds me of those (chaotic) years and has great Carolina beach descriptions, so I reread it every few years for sure.
ReplyDeleteLove this giveaway!
You know I'm here quite a bit, following and commenting, love this space. I would love Taking Flight and the headband- absolutely adorable !
ReplyDeleteI'll blog about this tomorrow and come back to comment with a link when I do...
Thanks for such a fabulous giveaway Mon!!
I like to read books by Jodi Picoult, or Jennifer Weiner. I would love either the Scraptastic book or the Writing for Self Discovery. Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy oh my!! This is so generous of you!
ReplyDeleteI would be happy reading anything by Philipa Gregory. Combine English history with romance and I can't resist ~ I'm a sucker for both. :)
As for choices...mine would be Taking Flight and the bandana (to help me embrace my messy hair!) I don't tweet, but I'll put a post on my blog. I comment when I do.
Just so you know, I'm still extremely envious of your trip to England. I hope you have a fantastic time and come home with many cherished memories. Safe travels!
I'm always excited at the start of summer when Patricia Briggs comes out with a new Mercedes Thompson novel. They're kind of like the True Blood series, but with werewolves instead of vampires. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested in the copy of Scraptastic. Always looking for a way to mess up my journals even more!
This is so cool Mon! And very generous of you!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited!!!
My summer reading is "Girls Like Us" by Sheila Weller (it's a biography about Carol King, Joni Mitchell & Carly Simon - and "the journey of a generation")
I adore the look of the Scraptastic book, and I already have about 20 bandanas and headbands...the owl bookmark looks magical and tribal...I like it!
Off to blog about this cool give-away! Good luck everyone!
If the scraptastic has not been taken, I would gladly take it. Let me know how much postage it is for you so I can paypal you... And I don't want it for free so I would like to make a donation too...
ReplyDeleteI have the take flight book and it is truly fabulous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for having this giveaway! I'm actually reading Marquez's "one hundred years of solitude" right now, so I would pick "love in time of cholera" and the owl bookmark, please! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favorite summer reading book. I'm thinking maybe I need to slow down and take the time to find one. :) I'd love to read the Cary Grant book and of course I'd need a bookmark!
ReplyDelete"wisechild" by monica furlong. the story sticks with you, years after you read it. it's beautiful.
ReplyDeletecongrats to you! we love your blog!
How sweet to have such a fun give away - my 'winter' read - i'm in the southern hemp. this year is - Care of the Soul - by Thomas Moore - a truly inspiring book. The author speaks about caring for our souls rather than curing them which seems to be the modern day psychological method - your blog is wonderful food, for curing for my soul
ReplyDeleteBooks! I need to sleep on this one! I'll answer tomorrow ... and of course I'm a follower ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Mon. That's one fantastic giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a favourite summer read per say, I just go a little lighter. This year I'm planning on (re)reading Nils Holgersson by Swedish authour Selma Lagerlof.
If I win, I'd like Scraptastic please, and the bandana.
And I've mentioned the giveaway on twitter
ReplyDeleteI finally got the blog post up!! :)
ReplyDeleteguilty ....I am reading the lost symbol by dan brown. i can't help myself. I love mysteries :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you! My favorite summer books are re-reads of Harry Potter and Jane Austen books.
ReplyDeleteI'd love the Cary Grant book and owl bookmark.
If Writing for Self-Discovery is a pre-loved book, then I want a copy whether I win a give-away or not. Such lovely gifts...
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of a summer book, for some reason all these titles from when I was a kid pop up in my mind, and my favorite of those is The Secret Garden. But right now I'm reading Farm City which I think will be a good summertime read.
Oh, and I can't decide between the bandana and owl bookmark. I think I'll pick...bandana!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I wasn't one of the first 99, but I want you to know I hit that follow button after I read your last post. So, yeah, I know this doesn't count. :)
Anyways, I tweeted this, though I don't know if that should count, either, seeing as I have so few twitter followers, lol.
How lovely of you to offer such wonderful things! One of my favorite summer reads is The Memoirs of Cleopatra by Margaret George. I adore it, and especially enjoy reading it during warm weather (the opening in chapter 1: Warmth. Wind. Dancing blue waters, and the sound of waves. I see, hear, feel them all still...).
ReplyDeleteI would ADORE a copy of Love in the Time of Cholera...I just watched the movie the other day for the third time, but have never read the book (shame on me). Such a tough call on the bandana and owl bookmark (I collect owls!), but I was just thinking yesterday that I need something to hold my hair back this summer, so I'd love that bandana. The brown matches my hair color, too.
I don't tweet, but I will definitely blog about your give-away. Congrats - your blog is wonderful!
every summer I read The Little Prince every-time I find something new.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching your first 100 - I'm sure that the word's getting out and it won't be too long before you have many more regular readers.
ReplyDeleteSummertime reading is such a pleasure isn't it?
For me, anything by Isabel Allende or Paulo Coelho would be on my list plus a great autobiography. Last summer I read Andre Agassi's "Open" which was a really insightful tale of the man himself, the game of tennis but also the journey that I'm sure many top level athletes have to travel.
If I'm lucky enough to win a prize it would be a tough choice but "Taking Flight" tickles my fancy and it would be special to have that glorious owl as my book friend too.
Happy day!
Felicity x
Favorite summer reading book is probably Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants from my middle school days. Such an awesome series that always left me wanting more!
ReplyDeleteI ´ve read The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles on the beach one summer and it became linked to summertime in my mind forever. I think it´s a must for bohemian souls.
ReplyDeleteI choose the Cary Grant book and the owl bookmark (I´m into owls lately). Thanks for the giveaway!!
Love and peace from Spain!!

ReplyDeleteand also, thanks for visiting my own blog and for all the comments you've left lately - i really appreciate it!
Whohooo for hitting that number!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely give away. I would just love either Taking Flight or Scraptastic with the owl bookmark!
I've already read Love in the Time of Cholera and I really enjoyed it! They all look good, it is so hard to choose!
My favorite book for this summer has been a series of books about Tudor England by Phillipa Gregory. A bit of fiction, history, romance, and strong female leads all thrown in together!
OK, I've decided: Love in the time of cholera and floral bandana ;-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I just knew you would take flight! So I am not quite sure how to do this but I would LOVE the Writing for Self Discovery Book, as I am currently on a journey to becoming a storytelling yoga teacher. I think that book would a wonderful addition. And I am always wearing a bandana in the summer, mostly because I just love the look. Thank you for being so kind! {and entering me as many times} xo Samantha ps. My summer reading is going to consist of children's myths and fables.
ReplyDeleteI am reading an unusual book that is beautifully written, The Windup Girl by Paolo Bacigalupi. Dystopian literature isn't exactly a traditional summer read. Fascinating story set in the near future of bioengineered mammoths used as energy for fossil fuels are depleted. Ag companies hoarding seedbanks and creating plagues to starve populations, gloomy, yes, makes one think, emphatic yes. I vew food differently now. An owl bookmark and Taking Flight would be a nice compliment to Paolo. However, I did read The Road (Cormac McCarthy) in CO in the deep winter. I am just starting a blog, but not up yet, no twitter either. I love your look and I am itching to try my own...
ReplyDeleteHi and thank you so much for offring this giveaway. this is the first time i have replied to any blog so hope I am doing it correctly. I would love the Taking Flight book and the owl book mark please as i am an avid reader. A couple of my favourite summertime reads would be "Eat Mangoes naked" by Sark and "The education of Little Tree" by Forrest Carter which is one of the best books I have read. You are living the life I want you lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteI mentioned your giveaway on my last Edenwild post. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love the Writing for Self Discovery book and the book mark. :) My favourite "winter" reading at the moment is poemcrazy by Susan Goldsmith Woolridge that I am LOVING at the moment. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Monica, I followed your link from Milliande... Congrats on your 99 followers. I would love Scraptastic or Love in the time of Cholera (I've seen the movie) and the bandana would be nice. I love to read Nicholas Sparks, Lavryle Spencer. Right now I'm reading Stephanie Meyers books... I'm on "Eclipse". Have an awesome time in England!

Congrats on your followers! For some reason, I'm subscribed to your feed in Google Reader, but not a GFC follower? But I have been following for a while.
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favorite summer read that I go back to every summer, but when I was a teenager, I used to take a break from heavier reading and would read Harlequin romances in the summer. Every summer! Crazy because I will not touch them now. =O)
Please put me down for Cary Grant and the owl bookmark. Thanks!

ReplyDeletefantastic giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite summer read is Shadow of the Wind by Carols Ruiz Zafón, as well as being a fantastic can't-put-it-down novel, it always takes me back to the summer I read it. A hot, memorable road trip around California with my family. I love how the books you can read over summer, shape your summer!

For the gift I would have to choose the owl bookmark, it's beautiful and I love owls!
Hello there, I'm new here but would love to participate in your giveaway. My choices: "Love in the time of cholera" with the owl bookmark.

Thank you!!
Hello! I will like to win Taking flight and the bandana, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog.
All the best!
This is so odd...I just found you and I`ve just celebrated my 100th post last Monday with a giveaway and asked my readers to recommend a beach read! What a lovely giveaway - I love Bach flower remedies. For a summer read I would recommend The Hare with Amber Eyes by Edmund de Waal.
ReplyDeleteI might have missed the deadline, but I thought I will still comment :) It is wonderful that you are hosting a giveaway! I covet that 'Writing for Self Discovery' and Cary Grant books so much :) All the gifts that you have mentioned look so beautiful! The owl bookmark sounds so wonderful! As does the incense! What is my favourite summer read? It is 'Dandelion Wine' by Ray Bradbury. It is the most beautiful evocation of summer that I have ever read.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be in for some lovely weather at the moment here in england. Hope you have a lovely time :)
ReplyDeleteIf I was lucky enough to be selected? Well the Scraptastic book and the owl book mark (my mom loves all things 'owl' and I would gift it to her)
Thank you and have a wonderful break
