Kotor

We love our ruin-foraging. Peeking into crumbling buildings or partially-closed doors. Wandering and wondering.

This week we took advantage of warmer weather yet pre-tourist-throngs to visit Kotor. The fortress town nestled deep in the Boka bay of Montenegro.

  1. These pictures are really good. I can feel the old, musty crumbling feeling of some of the buildings.

  2. Love the pictures! Some may say they're creepy, but I find ruins to be so peaceful. There's just something about the empty quiet.

  5. I agree these photos are great. Love the shadowy second one:-) Was this is all completely open for you to wander around? That is amazing. I am sure here in the states it would be blocked off, guarded, no tresspassing signs everywhere, etc.

  6. Beautiful pictures, Monica! It transported me to a different world. I can imagine you straining your neck and looking up towards the sky, to take the first picture :) It has come out wonderfully.

  8. I'm very envious. This is a country I've long wanted to travel through. I think you've helped push it higher up my 'to-visit' list. I love your photos. In black and white you seem to get so much more texture. How does that work I wonder?
